Redhills Durham Miners Hall Restoration

L&S Brickwork North East was selected to provide all masonry services for the multi-million-pound restoration of the Grade II-listed Redhills Durham Miners Hall in Durham. Originally built in 1915 as the headquarters of the Durham Miner's Association, this lottery-funded project aimed to preserve the heritage of the region's mining community while improving accessibility and facilities. Our team completed complex brickwork for both the restoration of the historic building and the construction of a new extension, which now houses exhibition spaces and community facilities. The project required sympathetic restoration techniques to preserve the building's character while meeting modern building standards. Working on this prestigious heritage project demonstrated our capability to handle sensitive, complex masonry work on historically significant buildings across the North East.

Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum Restoration

Our team was proud to complete the brickwork for the restoration of the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum ahead of its historic reopening as the Land of Iron visitor attraction. This project required careful masonry work to restore and preserve the original industrial buildings while creating new spaces for exhibitions and visitor facilities. We worked closely with conservation specialists to ensure our brickwork respected the site's industrial heritage and historical significance to the region. The restoration has helped preserve an important piece of North East industrial history, showcasing the area's ironstone mining legacy. This project highlights our experience delivering high-quality restoration work on heritage buildings throughout County Durham and the wider North East.
